Swansea Bay Summer 5k Series and Fun RunĀ

It is with great regret that currently, we have no alternative but to cancel the 5k Summer Series 2020. Following the advice of the Government and Public Health Wales, City and County Council of Swansea have taken to the decision to cancel or postpone all events until the end of August 2020. We are hoping to be able to reschedule dates but at this stage, we can not confirm new dates until we have further advice from the Government and Public Health Wales. We will provide full refunds on current entries and we will keep you updated of our future plans, as we review the situation on a regular basis.

Until then keep safe.

As we find ourselves in unprecedented times we have put sales of the 5k Series events on hold while we review dates with City County Council of Swansea and Secret Beach Bar & Restaurant. Our aim is that the 5k Series 2020 will go ahead with alternative dates. As soon as we have more news we will be in touch.

Until then, keep safe, wash hands, self isolate if have the symptoms and if the persist after 7 days call 111.

It is with great sadness that this notification is coming to you today. The Welsh Athletics has made an announcement that all athletics activity will be suspended from, 17th March 2020 until the end of April 2020, this effects all clubs:

Welsh Athletics is advocating that clubs and groups should not be undertaking training, competitive or other related activities during this period, and it is already apparent that parts of the sport are already showing their own leadership and are acting in this respect.

The Paul Popham Running Club will follow the advice and guidance of our governing body, the Welsh Athletics and suspend club weekly sessions from today until the end of April when we will review the situation. Rest assured that this decision has been tough for us all. I and the Committee are fully aware of how coming to club is a weekly routine we all enjoy in our lives and as such is needed now more than ever. We have to put your health and wellbeing first and ask that you all look after yourselves, that of your family, friends and your club family.

Keep an eye on the following websites for update news and we will keep in touch here and on our Facebook group!

Thank you to each and every one of you for your support of each other and of the club during these challenging times.
